Hi, I’m Cari! After running a teaching studio for seven years, focusing on autistic and neurodivergent writers and creators, and collaborating with wonderful team of creatives to design experiences and spaces for a wide range of unique needs, it was clear there was a need for sourcing unique products and book lists vetted specifically for autistic and neurodivergent users. Books that are rich and deep with their content. Things that are the right kind of soft, predictable, dependable, functional and thoughtfully designed. So we created Bee-Loud: Books, Toys & More.
We will be selling directly to our current creative clients through our existing teaching studio, while also adding quarterly pop-up open sales at our farm location. (See below for more information on the when’s and where’s). As always, we are open by appointment for anytime convenient for your family and your schedule. As we like to say, the world may not be designed for us, but our homes and our businesses can be.
Modest Beginnings
Our journey started with a small one-on-one teaching studio in Cary, NC, focusing on comics, creative writing and painting, which we still run.
As the years passed more and more of our students were neurodivergent, and most were autistic, we reflected on what that meant for who we are, what we were doing right, and what we could do better in future.
This lead us to our own self discovery and identity as neurodivergent, publishing #ownvoices comics and poetry collections, and to explore sensory design. We believe in supporting creative lives through thoughtful design. The world may not be made for us, but our homes and our studios can be.
